Dov Talpaz lives and works in Brooklyn, NY. He studied at the New York Studio School for Drawing, Painting & Sculpture. In the years that followed, he participated in the Painting in New York group shows, which are held biannually and continue to foster dialogue around contemporary painting.
Recently, Talpaz has been working from nature in a specific region of Upstate New York and northern Pennsylvania, with a sustained emphasis on drawing from nature. His current work reflects a dual practice, integrating close observation with visual storytelling.
His work has been exhibited locally and internationally, with recent solo and group shows at SARAHCROWN (NYC), TL Studio (NYC), 601 Artspace (NYC), Slag Gallery (NYC), EGMS Studio (Austria), Triumph Gallery (Chicago), William Holman Gallery (NYC), Fire Barn Gallery (MI), and the Muskegon Museum of Art (MI), among others. His paintings have also been featured at Untitled Art Fair (Miami), Dallas Art Fair (Texas), ArtPrize (MI), and Spring/Break Art Show (NYC).
Talpaz’s work has appeared in The Wall Street Journal, Architectural Digest, Hyperallergic, Whitehot Magazine, and Forbes, and is included in private and public collections worldwide.
